A Missionary Kid's Burden

Our daughter, who was a freshman in the Italian high school in the spring of 2007, felt a great burden for her classmates to have a Bible study. She did not know of any other believers at her school, so she had no Christian peer influence outside of two other girls her age that she sees occasionally on Sunday mornings at the church we attend in Milan. So, she started inviting her friends to come to a Bible study in our home and eventually two did come. They studied the Bible, but unfortunately, it did not last. Our daughter feels a great encouragement when she is around peer believers that is readily available for her if we were in the US, but her faith is challenged here in Italy around every corner. She attends a high school where she is the only known believer. Living out their faith is a daily reality when confronted by so many influences of poor language, mistrust in relationships, manipulation, physical attractions and influences of the genders, cliques, and the list goes on... While we stand with our daughter and constantly discuss with her the challenges she faces, it does not reduce the pain she endures for the sake of the cross. She is working out her salvation in some interesting ways as a "lamb in the wolves den." Would you please pray for her as she seeks to not only be a good role model, but to share her faith and for the message of the Gospel to change the hearts of the kids in the high school for His glory and knowledge of the hope of salvation?
